We are about half way through the trip and the footage that I have been able to shoot has been incredible. The Paleontologists on the expedition are fascinating and the world of paleontology is as interesting as the fossils they are discovering. Yesterday I spent the day filming a Plesiosaur being unearthed and packaged up to be sent to Pittsburg. I will also have the opportunity to film the unpacking on the other at the Carnegie Museum and UT. I certainly have a much greater appreciation for the time and effort that goes into what we as the public see at science museums.
I have been spending most of my nights in a camp on Vega Island. The weather has been incredible with very little snow. I hope it stays this way as it makes filming much easier. I just popped into the ship today to take a shower, but I will update my blog with a longer post soon.
